Revisiting Natural Garden

This seems to be a recurring theme for me. I won't give up til I get it right! This is a wip, 16x20 oil on hardboard.

It's looking fantastic as is. I'm not sure where you're going with it and I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Revisiting Natural Garden

This is beautiful already. It's got gorgeous rich color, and as Carol mentioned, a nice rhythm. You could leave it as is and have a very nice abstracted landscape. Looking forward to the finale!

Re: Revisiting Natural Garden

I did some more work on this. It is an example of a painting that one has to keep working on until one is satisfied with the results in terms of the effect desired. Mostly I go back and forth from light to dark and diffuse to distinct.

For those who might be familiar with this scene, it is Fogarty Creek close to where it flows into the Pacific Ocean in Oregon.

It's lovely, like the pastel hues.

Re: Revisiting Natural Garden

Watch your lights, the first go-round has better stroke direction and depth of field re-gain some of your depth by muting the background elements and dadpple you light a bit.
I've been struggling lately, trying new things. whew! So don't mind my C&C.

Thanks for comments. Good comment on depth of field, I need to keep that in mind.
