Smile A few of my latest pieces

Hello~ I'm totally new to wetcanvas, so I figured it was time to introduce myself

My name is Jorinda, I'm 25 years old. I recently graduated from University, and I'm fairly new to oil painting (within the last year). I wanted to share a few of my most recent paintings, and to hopefully get a little feedback.

So this first one is fresh off my easel. It is the third painting in my series of horse paintings. I've been going for different points of veiw of the horse for each piece. This series is sort of 'experimental' in that the backgrounds were done in metalic spraypaints.

This is the very first one in the series, and it was also my very first attempt at painting a horse. It was interesting for sure lol.

And this is the second one

Besides horses, I'm really into landscapes, both real and fantastical.
This one was completed today. Its fairly small, 8x10.

This one here was done several months back as a commission. It is 4 feet x 5 feet. It was my first oil landscape....and I'll admit I Bob Ross'd it. Really enjoyed the process though!

So those are my most recent paintings.
Lying in bed would be an altogether perfect and supreme experience if only one had a colored pencil long enough to draw on the ceiling. ~G.K. Chesterton

I like the 1st and the 3rd horses...the two facing away from the picture plane...especially the first. I think those two have slightly stronger compositions than the second. Also like that they are simpler. I also like your first landscape for the same reasons (the sand/stone one with the little guy). I like its composition and simplicity. Good work! Keep at it! (From a non-professional/amateur...take it for what it's worth, lol.)
C&C always welcome!

Castielsilvermist - I really like your take on the horses - Reminds me of some of Georgia O'Keefe's work - Also, like your landscapes -
" You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream" - C. S. Lewis
"If one loves nature, one finds beauty everywhere" - Vincent van Gogh
"I'm not performing miracles, I'm using up and wasting a lot of paint." - Claude Monet
C & C always welcome

Re: A few of my latest pieces

It's the last one I like the most, personally.

The 'strength' in the mountains is tempered by the soft foreground ....

I think you have made quite a statement with your mountains.
