Cup in charcoal

Charcoal on toned paper.
8X8

First attempt at a charcoal sketch.

More to come.

How does it look?

Oh wow, Bill, this is fantastic! You've taken a simple subject and explored all its bits and pieces, shades and hues using only charcoal. Bravo!

Re: Cup in charcoal

Both are good work, but I like the cup on its side. It makes me wonder what happened.

Re: Cup in charcoal

Real fine touch with these. I see some careful observation in the cast shadow from the glass.
