Jerome Cast

"Jerome", charcoal & white chalk, 45x70 cm. X-posted to Drawing & Sketching.

This is my latest drawing at the atelier and it's a life drawing. The second photo shows the model and my drawing together. Charcoals are Nitram B, HB.

Thanks for looking!

Re: Jerome Cast

I used to love drawing from casts in art college. This is spectacular.

Re: Jerome Cast

Thanks, Derek! It was fun to do. I'm now moving to oil painting casts and I expect it to be even more fun.

Re: Jerome Cast

Bob, thank you for commenting! It was interesting to define the form in this cast because there were so many different curve shapes over the big form.

Re: Jerome Cast

So well drawn, from life no less. The details and scale look difficult to me. I am impressed. Gary

Re: Jerome Cast

Gary, thank you!
What was the most difficult for me was charcoal. Until this exercise I wasn't able to work with charcoal. I now can handle charcoal little better but I think I'll stick to oil paints in the future.
The measuring I used is called comparative measuring.
