I've always thought that video is pretty much the best thing for teaching any skill, second only to real in-person training.
Since I really liked the way my drawing teacher taught his craft, I thought I'd share, and made some youtube videos in which I explain everything step by step, the way it was explained to us.
I also invited anyone who wants to learn, to follow along and send me their work, for critique.
So far my only student was (quite surprisingly) a friend of mine, a programmer, who never really held a pencil before, not to draw anyway :P
Once he saw that drawing is a step-by step process, not just inborn magic, he set out to work, and this is his progress:
This happened over the course of 4 weeks, and we only worked online, over skype, because we're in different cities.
So what do you think? Is this regular progress or did I stumble over a quick learner ?
