This is what I have been experimenting with. Loose impression of a swampy area behind the house. Wanted to capture the reflections.

BillFebruary 20, 2019 at 10:33 am #785293Your spring looks wet and that is the intention. The painting is good, clean, and very well done.:)

February 21, 2019 at 9:09 pm #785295Thank you Kate. I am encouraged to explore this different way for me express what I see. It’s funny but seeing the two pictures together like this I keep seeing things I missed or ways to correct it…maybe I will try again. I’m certainly happy to have everyone’s feedback

I would describe your impression as somewhat “angular,” which gives this peaceful setting a bit of an “edge,” at least to me.
Keep pushing forward — you’re gaining great mileage as you try new things!

Painting is not everything in life - but without painting everything is nothing!February 22, 2019 at 2:14 pm #785296Thank you Frank for the encouragement. The peaceful setting does have an edge…those blue sky reflections..which inspired the painting. I find the sky just about throws anything at us these days…we gotta be careful. My cat jumped on my paint tray today….now there’s a challenge on my next painting..
Thank you Ernst…you both do lovely paintings….lets keep at it!Suzanne
