You need a PC to access all it's features; Map, Streetview, Satellite and 3D-viewer. You go to Satellite view, then theres a small '3D' icon in the corner if your PC and browser supports it. If you want the Streetview it's typically on the Map-view, a little 'yellow man' icon. Pick it and the map then shows blue lines for the streets they have scanned. You pick-slide-and-drop the icon on the map where you want to see.
You can also save pictures of what you're seeing in Steetview.
I use GoogleEarth and GoogleMaps almost daily in my day job, and it's extremely useful. The only odd thing is while it's a Google product, I can't access the 3D-viewer in GoogleChrome browser. I have to use the WindowsInternetExplorer browser to access the 3D-viewer feature.
