oh, don't feel its a fail... think rather a great learning experience - there's so much to take into your next painting, for sure - I think you sharing early on that you were just beginning with painting?

Hey, thanks.
Well, what I did learn was not to use a palette knife to try scrape off semi dried paint haha. Yeah I am new to painting.

Thanks La.
I still want to know how to achieve that bright vibrant blue using either Pthalo red shade or French UMB. Then I can try again.

a big part of achieving that bright vibrancy is contrast and complimentary colors, meaning, that blue would not sing nearly as well if not for the bright white bottoms and the yelloworange background.

it's definitely worth it to do studies with blue, there are vast options.

May I make a suggestion. One of my instructors once told me to start small. Paint one or just a few flowers. Get the feel of the medium, the canvas. You will be less frustrated and as you progress your confidence will grow.

Thanks.
Do you mean as a separate study? Or on the same canvas?

Separately on a size canvas that won't overwhelm you.

Yeah, I agree. I need to buy a small canvas book for studies. Was actually thinking that.

I'd give a go again!

Especially in the beginning of transitioning to painting, I have had dismal failures that I have trashed, and the second try went much more smoothly, I obviously learned SOMETHING from the failed first attempt!

Think of your painting #1 as a rehearsal. Musicians don't usually get it right the first time they play a song! Why do we expect to?

Thanks Robin!
The dream is still alive to paint my 3 painting series.
I received a copy of this today...

which I hope will help me.
