Man in Brown Hat

Hello! What a beautiful day it is in my neck of the woods. I hope you are all having a great day.
This is a portrait of a teacher at my grandchildrenís school. I loved the way he looks in his brown hat, so he posed for me!
This 9x10 portrait was done on UArt 800 grit paper, using Polychromos, luminance, soho, and Pablo colored pencils.
Thanks for looking; comments welcome!

This is just wonderful - one of the most charming and 'alive' portraits I've seen for a long time! The smile, the contrast in textures between skin and beard, the brown patterns...it's all so beautifully done.

I love the twinkle in his eyes, and another perfectly shaded nose!!! What a wonderful character, and those white hairs in his beard must have been a lot of work...

You are doing so well Tammy!

I see no one has replied to your request about how much to charge yet. I stick to what I shared with you via PM. I'd start with a figure I feel comfortable with, and eventually increase the basic charge as my skills do as well, which looking at your work will not take long for sure!

Raquel, thank you so much for your comment! Iím working so hard on improving. Itís very encouraging to get such heart felt comments.
And...thank you for the reply about my inquiry into pricing. Iím taking your advice. I think Iíve found a price that works for me. Itíll cover my expenses, and allow me to get some money for my time. Maybe Iíll buy a few more pencils! 🤣 Iíll let you know how that goes.
❤️❤️

That man looks very content and happy as you nailed his mood totally. This is some beautiful work and you captured all the different textures excellently.

Fantastic!!! From one who is artistically afraid of faces. Haha! (It's on my to-do list, but keeps getting bumped to the bottom of the list. ) And I just love your backgrounds!

Thank you, Boafamily and ocmd123!
Ocmd123, thank you for the thoughtful comment about my backgrounds. I usually do the backgrounds first because I base the rest of the colors in the portrait on those. Theyíre one of my favorite parts to draw! ❤️😊
