Sorry for not posting this sooner!
Postmark deadline is July 11th. Work produced in the past 3 years can be entered, so if you already have any horse/western themed art, you can enter it.
It's always a very good show. No scratchboard category, but there's a "miniature" category and an "anything goes" category that work. A couple of us have been suggesting they add scratchboard to the "pen & ink, pencil, graphite & charcoal" category, but that hasn't happened (yet). They came up with the miniature category a few years ago; it's actually "small format" since you can enter anything up to 14" x 14" framed. The "anything goes" category for "Fine Art that doesn't fit in any of the listed classes
", is new this year, so that helps scratchboarders with larger format works.
That's my donkey scratchboard "Rocky" from the 2013 show on the page.
Here's a little board I just finished that I'll enter this year. "Tumbler" is a 4.75" x 2.75" board. Scratched with a #16 X-Acto, some re-inking with a pen/re-scratching, no washes. This is one of those blingy doohickeys that's attached to the top of a fancy horse collar. The top part swings, spins and tumbles, hence the name and my uninspired title for it.
