Re: Pair of Wolves

Thanks for all the comments. Yes "The Greeting" sold as a pair with "Waiting on Sundown" last year. This piece is a lot bigger than those two. I am still working the composition in my mind... so not 100% sure what the final size will be, but it is on a 24"x36" board. I should have more time to work on it and my other two pieces this week. I need to get some artwork done pronto with lots of upcoming events!

Re: Pair of Wolves

Well this piece has taken the back burner until I finish the elk (and before that my commission and the other wolf... etc.) but I have actually made some progress since the last update and just took a photo.

I am not feeling 100% happy with this one unsure how to do the foreground (which is out of focus in my photos) and the merging where the back wolf is leaning on the front one (this 'pose' does not exist in my photos, but is multiple photos combined for this composition). I am sure I will figure it out in the long run, but they are sitting idle right now, but here is where it is at.

Re: Pair of Wolves

Considering this is a made up photo, you're doing a fantastic job, but then you always do, so you'll figure it out. It doesn't look made up to me...the way you're merging the jaw of the top wolf into the fur of the bottom one is very believable. Also looks like that top wolf is just about to yawn and join the other in slumber.

Re: Pair of Wolves

I've also got a couple of pieces sitting idle while I plough on with others hopefully with a view to learning some technique I don't know of as yet that will enable me to finish them. I have no doubt you'll figure this out sometime.
