Re: Sunset Lake Oconee, GA

I like the warmth of this painting. Was it painted from a photograph? Two little things - 1. The reflection of the trees looks too straight into the water. I think the left bit of the reflections can be less straight and could maybe end a little sooner than the middle portion. 2. similar point for the reflection of the sun. I think you could paint small bits of the white on the sides for some of the top portion as you have done for the bottom bit of that reflection. Very nice work!

This is the reference photo I took. What is interesting to me is the peculiar straightness of the reflections. Odd, I know. Thank you for your comment, i aapreciate your observations and critique.

Bhindi, I see what you are saying about the tree reflection. I'll make it a bit more irregular, like the photo.

Very nice work. I like the backlit portion behind the trees. You left out the boat!

Re: Sunset Lake Oconee, GA

Boat is optional of course. It might balance the land on the right. Or it might crowd it...

Nothing like complementary colours to make for an engaging work ... Interesting how the
yellow gives the appearance of the blue being bluer than it is. Love4ly stuff., Love the way
you have rendered the water.
