Red face "Day" - White wolf 5x7

Here is the companion piece to my black wolf mini, "Night". This piece was created over the course of two weekends while assisting my boyfriend on a movie set as the Digital Imaging Technician. My job was essentially to sit there and wait until memory cards from the camera or sound department needed to be dumped and backed up. The hours were from 7PM to 7AM the first weekend, and 8PM to 8AM the second weekend, so I simply worked away on my little board during that time. I had also moved to a new home during this time and, unfortunately, lost the brush that I used for the first piece during the move. As a result, "Day" was painted with a number 3 sable round as opposed to my usual teeny tiny brushes.

Here is a progress shot of the piece.

And the finished image, along with "Night". I will be touching up "Day" a bit more and will be getting a better photo of it soon.

Now onward to larger pieces again!

Looks awesome!!!!!

I can't help but be curious. Is your b/f working with a RED camera? I know most out that way are still on film so reading about your job peaked my interest.

Susan,

He hasn't worked with RED yet, however his last project was shot on 16mm film. This project wasn't his, however, and the people in charge didn't have a budget for film so I rented out my 5D Mark II and lens kit to them instead. It's a great camera and the footage looks wonderful.

The nose on the white one does look a little twisted to the left to me but lovely detail on both.

Best from mike.

I love the 'reach out and touch' sense you've attributed to both these paintings. Incredible detail & I like how you left Night roughed up a bit. Because they have goo in their eyes & specks of debris on them in the wild!

Wonderful captures. Exceptional.
