WDE 10 June Not so simple

I started off trying to meet my own challenge and had a bit of trouble trying to work out just how to do it. These are all done 5x7 sketchbook, the first few were quick sketches with a sharpie. They only took a few minutes each and are pretty awful and are uploaded in the spirit of.

I started to get the feel of it with Maggie and pixie, they would have taken about 30 minutes each and then I decided to try the tomatoes and utensils as a proper painting and it took just over an hour. The last three are all gouache.

Thanks for looking.
All C and C welcome

Nice work on all of these. I like the first sketch and the tomato painting the best. Good work with the reflections in the tabletop.

Thanks for hosting.

These work well, they're like diary pages. My favourite is the one with the hotel and the figure with the dog. Really nice miniatures.

I always enjoy the Christine colours in your still life. But the pup steals the show

The still life painting is beautiful, Christine, and I like the pen sketches which are loose and unfussy. I love your gouache versions of the dog and cat. You definitely met the challenge, and the colors and their expressions are fabulous. You always inspire me to try to get better at painting with gouache.

I like the little bird on his perch - just perfect on his pose!
