Wow. Thanks for the photos and the step by step details of the installation. Your sculpture is beautiful and the logistics are incredible. I love sculpture like that. It's cool to know that your horse will probably last for centuries, maybe millennia now.

Re: Installing a life-size horse

Here he is! I'll post more pics soon - gotta sort through them first. He was unveiled on June 23 - we just got back home from it late last night. Still haven't had time to go through the pics yet.

Re: Installing a life-size horse

He's gorgeous! And with the brick background it goes so well with his blackness. I'm so happy for this huge achievement you've made. You've beautified a part of the world for a long time!

How did the unveiling go and what were the sequence of events? No speech by you I take it. Why did it take a few months after the installation to have the unveiling?

Congrats!

Re: Installing a life-size horse

Thanks! It took a few months after the installation because the unveiling was supposed to be on or near the anniversary of the horse's death. Nanning died June 15, 2010. This was the nearest Saturday my customer could work out with the various things going on in everyone's lives. There was a meeting of the Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA) there the day before the unveiling. Folks came from all over the country and from Canada for that, and the Dutch guy came specifically for the unveiling.

I'll post the series of events in the "unveiling" thread.
