Pedal Racer WIP.

This is a large watercolour; 22 x 30 on 140 lb. paper. It is from a photo of my 3 year old son. He is working on the "carburetor" with a screw driver. The vehicle is one that I made with bicycle propulsion and painted it with spray bombs. The setting is in our backyard.

This first bit of painting is starting on my son while he is "working" on the carb" which is just an old piece that was in an old car also in the back yard.

Re: Pedal Racer WIP.

Interesting composition and you are off to a good start.

You might want to check the drawing of his hands because they are an important element in the focal area of the painting.

Re: Pedal Racer WIP.

Thanks Sylvia and Doug...the left hand is partially down in the grass so it will need a bit of detailing when we get there.

A bit more work on the cart. The reflection of the "mechanic" is caught on the side of the cart.

Re: Pedal Racer WIP.

A good start. I'll be interested to see its progress and the finished painting.

Re: Pedal Racer WIP.

a bit more work on the lawn...and worked on the wheels, the front shock with a reflection of the shock on the front part of the flame. The lawn will probably take up most of the effort...
