This month will be a bit different for many of you … birds of one sort or another. Feathers can be tricky and are a good tool to have in your drawing skills.

You have a good soft texture to the feathers which is part of what I was thinking about with this reference. And you are getting away from outlines which shows in greater realism. :thumbsup:

My take on the Mandarin duck, A4. My background is lightened on purpose to try and make the bird more prominent.
