Bravo to Lawrence and Dave!

I know that Lawrence is always about first out of the gate, and does a LOT of wonderful and colourful portraits of his partners every year. A treat, for sure! Love the pope!

And Dave -- great likeness there of Lawrence!

This year's swap is starting off splendidly! I have a nice comfortable seat to sit and enjoy the art and shenanigans!

No, Lawrence. It will not stop. Well it won't stop while you're still alive and kicking. Congrats on beating Dave to the board- no small feat. Your painitng looks VERY MUCH like him. I had him for a partner a couple years ago so that is FACT, m'man.

DAVE- Lovely drawing- I suppose I will have to wait a few hours for the painting. sigh

Thanks, Crystal.

Hi Kevin, muchas gracias amigo.

Good sketch, Dave, certainly does look like me (unfortunately) ha ha.

Netty, you got exactly the right word, "quirky."

Ta, Kate.

Hey Lauren, you're too generous as always but many thanks.

Thanks Nora, you're very kind. I was expecting someone to say "Don't worry, Lawrence, one day it will stop."

Krishna Jurni Mani has an ashram in Narbeti where they contemplate not only their navels but also Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance. Especially the latter.

Lol -- Lawrence, I love your guruDave! Where is the motorcycle helmet?
(Ooops! I might have given you another idea for a portrait!)
You always bring so much fun to the annual swap, starting things off in a light-hearted and inspiring way. I like to think that you bring some of the lovely Spanish sunlight into your work -- welcome to this Canadian as the grey days of November are here.

Dennis -- Good start to your portrait of Kate.

Krishna Jurni Mani from Narbeti, I enjoyed that nearly as much as Zen and the Art
Lawrence is being very clever, I actually live just outside Narberth for those who don’t know .

This looks like being a very entertaining swap this year ‘’‘’

Dave.

Re: The 11th Annual WetCanvas Holiday Portrait Swap Pairings and Paintings thread!

Thank you Stapeliad. And about Dave's sketch of me, well, as a certain Pope said to a certain Spanish painter about 400 years ago, "Troppo vera!!" Which in English means "Too damn real!!"

Thanks for your comment Lauren.

The sun is shining in Spain but it's so cold in Wales now---same as in Canada---that Dave is turning blue.
