Re: something quite classic Ι think
I love the subtle tones.wonderful palette.
can i tell u something ? i am only saying this because i can tell u r obviously very dedicated and hopefully wouldnt mind a critique.
make sure ur sketch is correct ,if u r drawing from reference or otherwise. ask ppl if they think the sketch is good. v tend to miss a lot because v r looking at d picture so much.whereas other ppl will offer u fresh perspective. it is always surprising when ppl point out obvious flaws that my eyes missed. so get as much opinion sketch -wise as u can. u seem to b really good at d painting part, however the sketching needs to be worked on. if u want it to be perfect. in my opinion , u r a talented painter. u can definitly do better.
practising is the key to accurate ,clean sketches. take a book n sketch all u want,ur eyes will become trained to notice any lack of proportion. maybe its just that u r more used to painting landscapes/still life/abstract etc. i hav noticed some artists who r very good at landscapes n still life commit fatal mistakes in their attempt at figuratives. that too, sketch wise. its just a matter of training, n i sure u can overcome this prob.
do not lose heart. i said this as a person who has noticed this pattern , not as a viewer. i am sure no one will think ur painting flawed unless they looked n hard n long.
this is a great first paintings ,u should b proud.
just there is still room to improve.
just my thoughts. hope u understand .
