Re: women

It's pretty darn interesting and original. I think the point of the foot comes too close to the edge of the canvas though. If there is any way you could give it an inch of floating space, I think it would be better.

Re: women

My immediate impression was of a toilet. Women sit on toilets? A woman is a toilet? Then I start to wonder if the form is in any way "womanly", or if my initial reading of the toilet has taken over. I will say, if this is a woman, she is not feminine. Why it is in the plural, "women", is somewhat lost on me. It is a generalization of womanhood, not a specific woman? I have a lot of contradictory feelings reading this, as "guy sitting as a toilet" would probably be my literalist working title for it. If choosing the title "women" is intended to create feelings of ambiguity, it's working.

Oh, and ambiguous gender images are certainly allowed to have their pointy feet come right to the edge of the canvas. I don't read this as meaning to be a "comfortable" image in any way.

Re: women

I love the flowing lines and those work for me.

But as la says, compositionally its too far to the right for me.

And the women bit - what makes it a woman or women? And again the first thought was why put her on a toilet?

Re: women

Composition wise, I'm feeling the need for the figure to be positioned more to the left like has been mentioned...

Re: women

The more I look at it the more I can see a woman... I agree with the others, not sure why it is plural 'women'. I can see the woman better when not looking directly at it, the lines seem to soften and it looks more curvy. Very interesting though nice job!

Re: women

why do people immediately assume she is on a toilet and not a pillow? Weird.

Re: women

Because "she" is shaped like a toilet.
