This is a lovely 2 by 2 foot square; highly glazed and polished white tile. I like my palette on a table when working in the studio. This thing cleans up beautifully and is scratch resistant. Acrylics or oils both work really well on this.


How much? absolutely free. Seems your local tile stores are very generous and if you walk in and offer to pay for a single white or gray tile and mention you are a local artist......you will probably get it gratis. This one was a sample. It has to be smooth glazed tile though. White or gray, even beige can work well. Textured tiles are hard to clean.

Yes you can get these at home depot but usually no bigger than 12x12.

Thanks for the great idea! Even if you have to pay for one tile, it is a reasonable price for a good palette.

very good idea. I use 4" X 4" glass tiles for weights on paper corners. Four is all I need and they are relatively inexpensive, have great holding qualities and locally available and won't stain the paper.

There is a grate at the bottom, the cup holding water, the grate gently works out the paint, and then you slide your brushes vertically between the wire spirals to hold them up to dry. I have one. I love it.
