        I spent quite a few hours drawing this still life setup, then made a one day study painting, then on to a more finished painting which I completed over several days.

                    I like the improvements in this final from the sketch- softer, deeper values, and richer color! The darks serve to tie it together. Flowers are fun!

                            Thanks Derek, Paul, Ken and Sea Dangler! Spending a long time drawing, and doing the study really helped when it came to making the final painting.

                            I’m glad you like the colors, though they are off. I only have my crappy cell phone, so the colors are richer, not so dusty, in real life.

                                I agree with Ken about the final painting being a great improvement over the study because of the richer colors and darker darks. So if the actual painting shows even richer color, then just wow.
