I very much love this: the bottle with the incremental highlights, the majestic cloth, and the tray reflections.

Utmost blessings!

You tied it all together really well, nice job Ellis. I love that fabric, so quietly dramatic underneath everything

This looks great, Ellis, very precise work!

I would urge you to push yourself in terms of composition, background objects, and complexity of lighting/shadows in your next painting.
Every painting shows great improvement.

Re: The looking pineapple : finished

Thank you Bill, Philip, Paul, Zoran, Derek, onestrokeartist, and Alan

I'm proud you all like it. It wasn't meant to be a complex painting, just a simple thing of some things I like.
I painted it from life mostly so it was a battle with the pineapple decaying. Then I had some technical issues with sinking. And I did the initial sketch from a photo and I didn't notice how out of proportion things were. All things that doomed me from the start. Despite all that I think it turned out ok.. Not my best, just ok.
My next piece im going to try painting on oil primed wood, using a direct, gridded, method working from my cell phone. Square by square. Something new.. Haven't found a method I'm totally happy with yet.

Re: The looking pineapple : finished

Ellis it looks great you did a phenomenal job. I love the reflection of the pineapple in the bottle. You are really pushing yourself very well, it’s been an inspiration following your progress not only here but also in the acrylics board.

Re: The looking pineapple : finished

Thank you Carol, Traffic, Jess, scmelik and paznbaz. Very helpful reviews.. I'm always looking to improve and a fresh look always helps.

Started on my next piece. Color matching from my phone seems to work fine. Guess we'll see how it pans out.
