Favorite script type?

Hello everybody,

I've been studying calligraphy for a year now (an online course), with the emphasis on 4 different script types: uncial, gothic (textura), italic and round script. Roman capitals and copperplate are also (briefly) discussed and practiced. A useful set of alphabets, anything could be written using one of these.

Of course, I prefer some styles over other styles. I really like the look of gothic (especially with one of those medieval borders), italic and copperplate, and I think I prefer to write gothic.

Just to show some example:
(Translation: Music is the ink with which the soul writes.)

So, what is your favourite, and (optionally) could you post an example?
I'm asking this out of curiousity, but also to get inspiration on what script type I'd like to practice next.

Re: Favorite script type?

Nice calligraphy & a nice quote !
I'm certainly a "day one" beginner at calligraphy but I have always loved the look & feel of Uncial. even now it can be used in modern contexts & it incredibly doesn't look dated in the least.
Well not to my untutored eyes anyway

Thank you, Mike!

And Uncial certainly can be used in modern contexts, not just for 'untutored eyes'.

You'll probably appreciate the Easter menu that I wrote in Uncial:

I'd say it doesn't look old fashioned at all.

Beautiful work!

I've always liked a copperplate script with it's fancy flourishes but gothic is a close second.
