A slightly different take on an angelfish:angel:
13×11 using a technique called quilling. My first attempt. I think painting goes much faster though.

Only tried this technique once. Very well done Christel, you actually made something worthwhile. It is fun to have a go at different techniques but at my age I now just want to draw and paint (scratchboard).

I’ve never tried quilling, it looks like something you need a lot of patience with. You got a lovely result with this fish. :)

Thanks Federico, Joan, Barbra and Kay.
It’s lots of thin strips of paper turned into circles and then glued onto a support. I had to paint black onto the quilled paper as the card stock is actually only black painted onto white. The fronds/leaves where made using an old hairbrush which I trimmed as needed.

I’ve always been intrigued by quilling. It looks like fun! You’ve done a wonderful job, Christel!

                        Christel,
                        I thought you wrote quilting…lol…
then I googled quilling…wow, nice work!!

Jenna – thanks. The flowers made with quilling look great but they are tiny!
Chammi – thanks. I’m wondering about that too.
George – thanks. I actually made my own quilling tool with an old bic pen and a hairpin which I snipped and fitted it into the pen.

I love quilling. Have been doing them for a few years now. It is much more difficult than people realize. Great start!

 That is neat! I thought you glued sea shells to the canvas at frist. It really messes with my eyes
