orca on black scratchboard

I did this one this morning. It took about 3 hrs to complete. Its 8.5"x11" on black scratchboard.

Scratchboard is a heavy weight board that is coated with actually 2 surfaces. You scratch off (hence the name scratchboard) the top surface to reveal the underlayment, to make your artwork. Usually its white over black (I think), but some have different colors.

This is fantastic! I really am going to have to try my hand at scratchboard again. I enjoyed working with it years ago. You did such a fine job of capturing this creature.
