Box Cars a gouache sketch

9 by 20 inches on paper.
Went to my local art supply store and saw these cars parked behind it.

I think the scene is realistic. You said plein air, right? So really well done. Good depiction of the variety of foliage, wonderful perspective shown by lines and layering. Lighter color in the distant (lower V right) sky and even trees would help with that. Love the graffiti!
Yes, well done.

Thank you Yorky, ntl. I appreciate your taking the time to look and comment. ntl, thanks for the advice, I am trying to improve my color application especially when dealing with atmospheric perspective. This is my second attempt at an actual "painting" with gouache (or any paint really), which I have been using for about a month and a half.

I like this. As mentioned colors fade as they recede. More detail in foliage in the foreground, too. The perspective is nicely done.

You've taken an ordinary subject so oft overlooked, David, and turned it into fine art. This would not be an easy one to try. It's really splendid and great handling of the medium!
