Corsairs over HMNZS Gambia

Ive actually posted the pic etc in the cp forum but thought you guys might like a look see. I admit the pic will be mainly of the cruiser but there are 3 planes overhead. The commissioner has asked they be RNZAF corsairs so will nudge them that way re colors.

This is all colored pencil so far.. Ive added a touch of color at the stern and bow as an experiment.
Ive posted this pic in the CP forum too where most of the wip pics will go but will put the odd chunky progress pic here too.

Hi, been following the progress of Gambia, and she is comming along excellently. I take it you are using a black and white photo for reference, she was painted in an Admiralty disruptive patern, 4 colours G10, B15, B30 and B55,
If you wish I can scan 2 side views ( p&s) and colour swatches. I would need you email address by private messaging at the top of the page, as I'm sure they are copy right.

Thanks vegaskip, I have the disruptive pattern available but the commissioner is really happy with the result having okayed black and white to start with. So no problem but I really appreciate the offer. I have however, added a touch of color though in the sea and the flag and a tiny bit of blue in the corsairs. This is entirely colored pencil (mainly Polychromos) and took approx 20 hours. Its on Bockingham B.21 180gsm paper A3 size.

This is the finished article, scanned at 400 dpi then resampled down to 700 x 495 for the web.

Not much aviation in the pic I accept but hey..

Many thanks for the positive comments vegaskip, neilf92, and mark. I always appreciate them. I've sold about 6 prints of this since delivering the original to the commissioner. I've suddenly clicked to the audience of ex sailors and their descendants! I sense another ship in 2013 in the pipeline!
