A CATS FACE out of my confort zone again

Hi All, some people ask it I would paint some cats. I'm not a cat painter but found close up of there faces is a little better than the whole cat. this is a study i worked on over the week end. 6/8 MT C&C Please. the pic for some unknow reason comes out of focus when i try to photograph these small one. the camera just doesn't seem to focus on it very well.

Very Nice one Pete... You're in sync. I don't see the least bit of hint of you being out of your comfort zone on this. Another one of those cats with Siamese blue eyes. Nicely done.

Re: A CATS FACE out of my confort zone again

Pete, this is a great kitten. The little face and big eyes are wonderful. Beautiful luminosity on the eyes. Good fur texture. Cute short little muzzle, excellent cat nose - this is the way to go for getting a cat's facial details right. Tabby markings are excellent.

I know you asked for critique, but this is a successful cat painting. Keep doing cats! When you're ready for a whole body cat from a photo, try doing some gestures of the pose before blocking it in for the painting. That helped me a lot. Nothing like trying to draw a real cat while it's sleeping, they move every two minutes.
