        This one went with the Cruiser Mauritius

        Battle for Grand Port, Mauritius (we lost) although shortly after this the British took Mauritius from the French
        Google for details if interested

                        Thank you all. I like to see this type of painting in the museums and galleries they are usually about 10′ X 6′, and larger. This is a bit smaller!.

                                Thank you Joan. I spent a lot more time reading up on the history of Mauritius, than the actual painting. I used actual accounts of the battle to plan the composition. I have heard, however that it is much admired, and a talking point where it hangs in my friends office on the Island.
