An Audience of Two

This 16x24 drawing has been done on the plastic wrapping of a canvas I want to paint. It was done using a marking pen and a rag dipped in thinner which was used to blur some lines and brighten other areas. It is my preliminary sketch work for an oil painting I intend to do.
Thank you for looking, comments are appreciated, have a wonderful day.

This looks quite nice, I think, and has a very different feel to it. I've never heard of anyone drawing on plastic wrap!

Re: An Audience of Two

This is really well done on what I imagine would be a very difficult surface to draw on. Thankyou so much for posting, as this is something quite different to what we have seen before.

Jose- You are quite avant garde to do this with a piece of rag and on a piece of plastic. The result is interesting. You are getting two paintings for a price of one. Not a bad idea. Real innovative. I admire your artistic ability.

Re: An Audience of Two

Thank you all for your kind responses to this first post on the pen and ink forum.
Usually I draw on opaque Mylar sheets.
Here in this part of the world some supplies are difficult to come by. I am a person who enjoys experimenting. In this case I had no Mylar large enough to fit the drawing.
I wondered what would happen if I drew upon the plastic. From your responses it turned out well. If the painting is as good I will frame the sketch behind glass and sell the finished work as a pair.
Actually this was easy and fun and produced a looseness that is different from my generally tight and precise style that comes from my training as a print engraver. You can see some of my print works on that forum if it interests you.
Have a great day and always walk on the sunny side of life
Joseph
