A little 5×7″ I painted yesterday using a sketch and reference from a photo I took several years ago. I always felt the photo had potential for a painting, but was never really sure how to approach it, then I started sketching and the idea of making a tonal painting seems to have promise. Pretty much made up the lighting scheme and just played around with what I felt looked right. I think it may wind up being a larger painting.

Very nice painterly qualities and good use of color and light. I also like the varied shapes and textures created by the tree branches and foliage. It would be awesome too make a larger version.

So pretty! Glowing sky and you got the foreground just dark enough while still having color, tricky with those sunsets.

Terrific use of complementary colors which are greatly enhanced by that beautiful strip of purple in the lower sky – Nice Work Randy !

Scrolling down to look at your work was exciting. I didnt expect it to brighten the way it did, it just got better and better. Your lightbulb moment has really worked and I hope you post the full version!
