My second linocut adeventure with happy endings....

Hi,

encouraged with the feedback to my very first linocut I decided to make something small and spontaneous. Sketched a crow, in Christmas outfit, a ribboned gift box hanging from his peak. I designed the box too complicated, as this is only postcard size... so I had to delete it.
I am often too quick and accidentally cut one of his legs! Had to amputate.
No worries, hand printed on a piece of paper and added the leg with fineliner, coloured the boots and the hat. Voila!
Next day I suddenly knew what to do with the poor one-legged guy on the block: I carved him nice crutches!
So, here the story in visual form:

What did I learn? 1) think about the design longer than 3 seconds 2) concentrate in your work when carving 3) there is always a solution to a problem My friend wanted to have 20 of the last version as cards, so I had a wonderful opportunity to exercise printing! Red colour will be added with watercolours.

C&C welcome. Have a safe day!

What a fantastic experiment!

Your crow has a lot of appeal and charm. The crutches are hilarious and what a smart fix.

Can't wait to see more!
