July 5, 2019 at 6:05 pm #850716John, this one really grabs the viewer and keeps us looking! What a powerful and dramatic scene. I can feel the rumble of their hoofbeats just looking at this. I love the warm colors as well. This is extraordinary!

July 18, 2019 at 4:05 pm #850725Jo Castillo Hey Jo, Glad you liked the steers. It was fun to paint. this painting is painted over a gessoed canvas with latex house paint mixed with a japan dryer to slow down the cure time of the flat latex. I took a digital of it and kinda played with the lighting a bit for prints but it turned out ok. Still it was fun to paint. I love using house paint. its cheep enough I can paint forever, just use a tint base and a color tint wrack I am experimenting and trying to get a watercolor feel with them but haven’t succeeded yet. oh well back to the drawing board so to speak lol
July 18, 2019 at 11:26 pm #850712Another great piece of work!! I love longhorns! They sure carry a lot of weight on their heads.
