This is based on another reference by Gary Odell. I’m learning a little more about painting horses each time I venture into it. 11×14 oil. C&C welcome.

"If it were me......." My HusbandJuly 24, 2019 at 11:17 pm #858400I know nothing about painting horses and will not go there. I do love your ability to push chroma and still keep a painting believable. Very nice warm/cool contrast. Gary

July 25, 2019 at 10:37 am #858394Thanks Gary, your comment about not going there made me smile. I have a few places in painting in a similar category. The chroma and believable aspects always keep me challenged.

"If it were me......." My HusbandJuly 25, 2019 at 12:06 pm #858402Your use of color always blows me away – you create your own, special world with color – I think this is beautiful!
July 25, 2019 at 12:08 pm #858391Horses have a little more chest & shoulder muscle, see how he looks fuller in the belly & rump and his front looks small?
Also with the front leg coming forward for a step that leading shoulder & chest would be fuller..
The head , neck & top line look very nice.
Might be a bit of shadow under him, depending on lighting angle.~Joy~

"If it were me......." My HusbandJuly 26, 2019 at 4:10 am #858399Loads of character/expression in the horse. The high chroma red, yellow, green and green/blue works for me also.
