Interesting information, especially for the ones living in the US ;)

It seems like Pentel released a 50 pcs set of Artist quality! For the moment the only place to order it seems to be Ebay…

Cool that the OPs in it are square forms, like Holbeins or Cray-Pas Specialist!
I have watched two video reviews of the set, it seems to the similar quality to Sakura Specialist and Mungyo Soft Oil Pastels – the Pentel got something from both. It is a bit more expensive than Mungyos though.

        These are the Youtube reviews:

I thought it would be interesting to know, and maybe somebody will even get interested to try them :)

                Have you considered ebay?..
Why are you willing to get them so much? :) when I heard they are close to Mungyos in quality but smaller… (if I remember that correctly) I thought they aren’t worth looking for. The only real advantage is the square shape, but then you got the Specialist ;)

Because I must have ALL OF THE OIL PASTELS!:lol::lol:

The stocks of Specialists I can buy are the 12/25 sets with colours I don’t use all that much. Here in the UK, if I want certain sticks or the full set I have to order them from Japan or America at a prohibitive cost. Which is a real shame because Specialists are my very favourite and I’d use only them and Sennelier if I had access to them.

If I could buy square sticks of another brand in the UK or Europe, I’d be so happy. I can’t find any on our Ebay, I have been looking. I’m sure they’ll filter through to us eventually

Haha, I know what you mean, I also feel like buying all kinds of them just to try… but I don’t have that much money so I am limited to buying many :)

Hmm, actually I immediately found lots of offers on ebay… in sets of 25, 36, 50… Here are some:

As for the Specialist, you can try Aliexpress. Russians order from it all the time because of the free shipping. I haven’t tried the English version of it (the site sees my location and automatically offers shipping to Russia) but I’m pretty sure it’s the same. I’ve seen Specialist sets of 36 and 50. Not all the 88, unfortunately, but 50 must be good?

I also plan to write to Jacksonsart and ask them to carry Sakura Specialist and Holbeins :)

I was able to buy a 25-pc set of these from Sekaido in Tokyo. They are quite good and comparable to Craypas specialists, only the Pentel is a tad bit harder.

Not sure if they ship internationally but here’s a link

Thanks for the link :) Another artist bought them recently and told me they are like Holbeins in terms of size, hardness/softness and opacity. How are they compared to Holbeins in your opinion?

And may I ask you, do you live in Japan or you just visit the country often? Are you Japanese by any chance? (I love expanding the geographics of our little community )
