Two deer

Derwent Inktense watercolour pencils and ink. (Apologies for the low lighting conditions.)

Re: Two deer

I like the pose of the stag. I like how you painted in the fur too, it has a good texture.

I can feel the cold and snow! I like the branches, too.

Re: Two deer

Lovely deer... try to use the dry pencils to make the drawing and then gently add water for the color to blend... gives interesting effects

Re: Two deer

Thank you Heather and Federico
I do that too Federico in other drawings - currently I'm experimenting with different techniques.

Re: Two deer

These are lovely animals to paint Yvonne, as you can see from my Avitar, I also like painting them as well. Very nicely done. Paul :-)

Re: Two deer

Thank you Paul and Chammi.
I'm really inspired by the work of Mirko Hanak who painted a lot of deer (see my thread http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show....php?t=1473619)

I just ordered some gouache - trying to figure out how he managed the fur textures
