Re: A Country Scene - Cottage In A Cornfield (after Constable) WIP

Thomas Hardy would be very much taken by this quiet pastoral scene Hud. Looking forward to seeing the last stage of your beautiful painting that takes one to times gone by.

Caroline: Thank you ... plan to finish soon

Yes, Thomas Hardy is a favorite read of mine ... particularly his Far From The Madding Crowd ... I have relished in pursuing a life far from the madding crowd myself ... not always easy this day and time ... but worth the effort -

Re: A Country Scene - Cottage In A Cornfield (after Constable) WIP

I'll call it finished -

There are things about my effort I am pleased with and not pleased with ... I have given it my best shot - No doubt, the painting could be taken to a higher level of refinement by someone with far greater skill and knowledge than I ... maybe some day I will come back to it -

I appreciate all who have viewed and all the wonderful comments ... thank you - Hud

Re: A Country Scene - Cottage In A Cornfield (after Constable) FINISHED

Well done on the completion of this painting, Hud! I believe you've captured the same timeless essence in your painting that is in the original by Constable. Your warmth of color, as well as the depth of the values...it all works together to form a wonderful sense of home in this painting. Well done!
