Here's your OSIM Daily.

A couple of florals from the front yard taken a few days ago...

1) I've always liked the combination of white and yellow...

[Nikon D7500 + Nikkor 18-300mm taken @ 300mm, manual mode, 1/3200 sec, f/10, ISO 500, processed in ACR & PSCS5]

2) Here the addition of the red-violet looked good to me...

[Nikon D7500 and Nikkor 18-300mm shot at 300mm, manual mode, 1/2000 sec, f/8, ISO 500, processed in ACR & PSCS5]

Have a good week everyone.

Good morning Dave and any who follow. Nice floral shots as usual. I like the colors.

Just looking at my calendar, looks like we have some travel coming up. Thursday I am heading south to spend some time in St. Augustine and Jacksonville while DW goes to visit DD to help while her hubby is away on a training evolution. First week in Sept we are spending 2 days at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge so we can visit the lighthouse there. It is only open at certain times. The following week we will be taking some photos to the Georgia National Fair, but that is only a day trip. Third week will be spent camping in North Georgia. And finally, the fourth week we will be spending 3 or 4 days in Savannah. We had to go over to deliver some prints that have been selected for display in a nature center there, so we decided we might as well play tourist for a few days. It is going to be a busy few weeks.

Hope to bring back some photos from the St Augustine and Jax area.

Greetings All,
Dave, you got some nice contrast with the dark background!
Don, sounds like you have some great photo ops coming up!
We have plans for FL after SiL is finished with
cattle shipping. Takes them a few weeks, to get them all up and out of the pastures and hammocks and move them out.
No chance its going to cool off by then either.

I pulled this one out of my 2007 archive and updated it.
Not the best angle, but a larger version shows nice wing texture.

Happy Monday folks!
I like Mondays as it's one of the two days a week I get to spend at home and I have a chance to look in here. There has been some lovely work posted over the past couple of weeks and it's good to see more people posting.
We've got a welcome break from the heat this week, overcast and cooler. No thick smoke this summer either, so much better than last summers wildfires and permanently smoky skies. However, Northern BC got a foot of snow two days ago - in August!! Hope it stays up there.

Very nice florals Dave, yellow's not my favourite colour but you make it look lovely and rich.

Happy traveling Don, look forward to your shots. Congrats too on the photo competition!

Hi Patty, it is great texture on the wing there. Are you still getting good use out of your scooters? Tim's still got the beamer and a couple of years ago he added a 1000cc Ducati which to me was one terrifying ride! Sold it last year though as it was a pain to try and keep the speed down on the highway.

A yellow flower to go with Daves:

Wow Carol, that's very pretty; especially the red edging on the leaves.
You still find and capture amazing greens too!

Yes, we still have the scooters. I have currently logged 87,450 enjoyable miles (140,737 km) on mine.
So far, just new tires, belt, oil changes and air cleaners.
No major engine rebuilds, no problems. Amazing machines.

The Beamer is a nice ride. Glad you can still enjoy it.
I probably wouldn't care for the Ducati Experience, I'm not about speed, I just like the back roads and changing scenery.
Summer rides are short; we get out early and get home before the roads heat up.
Good to see you posting, your pics are top notch!

Hi All, nice flowers and butterflies. It's the time of year.
Last night was an interesting event near home. A forest concert with a wonderful pianist in a lovely setting. Nothing like a Steinway grand piano in the forest.

What a great photo Quint!
A beautiful backdrop for piano and player.
And look at his boots!
Steinway on a Big Tex!
Bravo!

Dave, good lighting and contrast on the flowers, pretty!

Quite a trip Don, have fun taking photos!

Damar, pretty butterfly, I like the color and composition!

Carol, SHARP focus on the center of interest draws your eye right there! As Damar said the red edges really pop!

Steve, what a cool place for a concert! Natures acoustics. Wonderful photo!

Quite an amazing collection of high quality images in today's collection.

Dave, I may have said so so before, your florals are always superbly crafted, I can see the great care you take in shooting them critically with a tripod, and the artistic flare with which you process them.

Damar, Lovely butterfly, and very crisp for 2007.

Carol, what a gorgeous image, a very worthy companion to go with Daves, yet I see in yours the feminine touch that forever eludes us mere males

Het Quint! That is just too cool for words! A Steinway in the forest, what a wonderful idea. Only wish I had been there to enjoy the concert, I am a great lover of music. You've captured the scene perfectly.

Safe travels, Don.

Damar, nice diagonals, and as you mentioned great wing texture.

Beautiful, Carol - great composition, and such luscious colors.

I'm not into cycles/scooters - probably because one time in college my frat brother friend and I rode one about 15 miles away from campus and the thing died. We had to push it all the way back!

Quint, a concert in the woods - can't beat that!

Hi Rich.

Thank you, Mark. How's the winter road trip going?

Well, we crossed some things off our summer To Do list: had a plumber out to unclog both toilets, replace some failing parts on each, and replace a leaking inlet line. $500 USD (I think he overcharged us, but he's a friend of my wife, and he does good work.) Next with the plumbing is to clean up and fix (reseal along the base) a shower and fix a slow draining tub.

Dave, the winter road trip is done and dusted. I've just posted a new set of snow pics with a silly title (with a lisp!)

Damar, beautifully colored butterfly, nice one!!
What a pretty little yellow flower, Carol. Lovely composition!
Steve, that is some concert. You won't see/hear that very often! Great image, how big was the crowd?

Nat, it looked to me about 100 folks. They were scattered around the piano in the grass meadow. Here is a bit more about what the event is:https://www.inalandscape.org/
