Re: Madeline Kate

Very nice. Did you work from a photo? The variation of warm and cool colors in her hair is very interesting.

Yes, beautiful: spontaneous and alive!

Maybe there is need for some correction to the lower lip: it is seen from above and then should be a little larger.

Re: Madeline Kate

Very nice work. Just purchased Artrage (years ago I had Painter) and looking forward to using it. Loved what you did.

Jan I've got Photoshop (CS5) and CorelPainter11. I'm finding that Artrage of course doesn't offer the wide array of tools as the aforementioned programs do. But, It's so darn easy to learn and has most if not all of the tools I use any way. The biggest thing I'm missing is a blender. To be honest with you there may be a tool or a feature that will 'blend' I just haven't found it yet!

Thanks for the comments!

Really, to blend is a problem in Photoshop, at least up to CS5; the new CS6 seems to have a very good blender, though.

But Corel Painter has excellent blenders, maybe a bit difficult to find among the huge quantity of their brushes...

Re: Madeline Kate

great work, lovely job on the face. Perhaps a bit more brush size variety in the hair filling the lower left of the image, and pushing the background further back would help some.
