I have taken a shot at Peter Dewars photograph ” Namaqualand ” – part of WC Landscape forum November challenge.
The photograph is so typical, the carpet of wild flowers, the ” wind-pomp” (windmill), the scrub, the gentle undulation of the topography.
The orange daisies are spectacular. Interrrestingly, well I think so, the daisy puts all its eggs in one basket, so to speak. It makes two sets of seeds: the first germinates opportunistically after the first rain, and the second does so later, when the ground is wetter.
My crazy wet sky prompted the riot of orange.
C&Cs welcomed.
As long as there is light, I will paint it.

November 11, 2018 at 1:42 am #726134Very nice John. A vast open landscape. You have painted nothing in detail but just enough to let my imagination complete the scene which IRL must be absolutely beautiful.

November 11, 2018 at 9:31 am #726131Nice painting, my only concern is that the sky looks as solid as the trees and land. Perhaps softening the cloud edges?
