MY COMMENTS:
Wanted to do a warm color painting this weekend, using mixed media, acrylic, powertex, rust powder and pen.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Unsure if I should keep the hidden cat and if I should put more color at the bottom of the painting

Re: Hidden Face

There is much to like in this one. I would take out the cat, to be honest I didn't even see the cat until you mentioned it. Once I did, I kept going back and forth between the woman's eye and the cat's eyes as a possible distraction. Although the woman is in the 'center' she is not static because of the way you have treated the face. IMHO, if you would complete the upper right side to be in color balance with the upper left, dropping also the brown scaly thing, I think this would be a wonderful painting.

Re: Hidden Face

This is really quite good I see a great deal going on here, there are many faces however i do think you should lose the cat as well. I do not think you should do anything to the bottom. But possibly add some light colors over the brown at the top not loosing all the brown but using it to bring out the color you choose to use to enhance the brown.

Re: Hidden Face

The scaly thing on right edge keeps grabbing my eye , just feels like it doesn't fit with the rest..
