I should be happy that I managed to finish my artwork way before the deadline but I'm not...

Re: March Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

I had a calendar of the the Brothers Hildebrandt. It was their Lord of the Rings Series. I had them taped all over my room. It was a good year.

I'm jealous, Vanity, I keep changing mediums and ideas!

Well, Arizona won't observe Daylight Savings, but I am not desperate enough to move there. Well, maybe Carefree...

Susie is still fussing with her entry. I keep telling her that with watercolors, a card laid is a card played, but...

Mine is done. I have moved on to doing a graphite portrait of Marianne Faithfull. Such a pretty girl. Almost as pretty as the most beautiful female singer of all time (that being in the early eighties) Joan Jett.

I think I'm done with mine.
I'll let it sit overnight and see if I need to fix anything else, or change something.
I actually like this one!
Terry said it looks OK.
High praise indeed!

Virginia I had one of those Brothers Hildebrandt calendar's also, we still have a decoupage of "The Gift of Galadriel" it's in our bedroom.
Remember that decoupages were the thing in the 70's.
I still have several, hey, they hold up very well and I still love those artworks.

Re: March Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

I finished my acrylic challenge and will start on this one today. I decided not to combine them after all.

Did anyone tell Susie that watercolours are the most difficult medium? lol

I agree with that!
Some artists do such wonderful works in them but I don't do so well with them.

I did, and got a for my efforts. I have hung it up on the refrigerator, mainly to get it dry

Re: March Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

I find watercolor the easiest, maybe because I did it for so much longer than the other mediums. I find pastels the hardest.

Re: March Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

Everyone has their own methods and madness.
I started in pastels and I still find them the easiest.
Although I've been wanting greater detail and Acrylics are giving me that option.
Plus I don't have to frame everything under glass like you need to for pastels.

Re: March Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

I find coloured pencils hard too, I don't know why, I have like mind block with them.

Had the fright of my life today. I was driving down the road when a car came at me on the wrong side. I honked like crazy, had to go off the road and he swerved and went off on his side and hit a pole. My car was fine but boy was I shaken. But on a good note it was by the gas station and there were two police cars there and they saw the whole thing. He had a nice car too. He was of course talking on his phone. At least he wasn't hurt!

Re: March Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

See, I go to graphite pencils first, even if I am just roughing out something I am going to do in acrylics. Then colored pencils if I am worried about the color effects. Everybody is different
