Didn't see this until today--the orange fresias are a superb companion with the deep blue irises. Very nice CP work!

Re: My first CP Picture WIP

Oh I love what you are doing with this! I don't have a critique, but I do have a general suggestion that you might want to play with on some test swatches. When doing shadowed areas, try mixing in the opposite color. For instance, when doing the darkest parts of green leaves, lightly layer in some dark red in addition to the dark greens and grays. This gives more depth and realism than merely layering in darker versions of the local color. It isn't necessary to do if it doesn't suit your style, but it is something fun to play around with on scrap paper and see if you like the effect.
It looks like you're getting nice, smooth coverage with the pigment, and your color scheme is beautiful. Look forward to seeing more!

This is very beautiful... Love orange and blue together. The detail is very nice and the shading is outstanding. Looking forward to the completed piece.

The iris flowers are not easy to draw and your composition is very nice. You did a beautiful start on this piece!
Candle is right about the red into the green, your green will be more deeper and lively.
