Calf in a Barn

I've met a nurse that wanted to know if I had ever painted a red truck. I hadn't. So I thought I would paint one for her. Since I normally paint hay as well I added some square bales. She also raises brown cows with white faces and was telling me about a bull calf hat was just born, so I added the calf as well.

6"x8" oil on canvas.

I've tried to adjust the colors in the photo to match the painting, but not having any success. There is more warm glow from the lantern in the painting.

C&C appreciated,
Thanks for looking,
Donald

Don: This is a great scene ... love your Red truck

I still drive my 1964 Chevy pickup ... it is white, but thinking about getting it painted Red - My only other vehicles are my 1950 Ford truck and my 1949 Tractor - As you can see I am not much on trading up to newer models ... I keep what I have going ... it's cheaper and more fun -

Kay, Thanks! I wish the photo's colors matched the actual painting. It has that nice warm glow I side the barn. I'll let y'all know if she buts it.

HUD, thanks! I use a limited pallet that helps to keep the colors clean and not create mud.

Really nice work, Donald! I like the warm colors...that's how a barn feels, warm and alive and cozy. I'm sure the nurse will love this with all of those personal touches you've added. Great work!

Donald, this is super. You have a great touch. Love the truck and the blossom (calf). The nurse will love it.

Jenna and Jo, thanks so much. It's amazing how much time it takes for next to paint a truck and little Blossom... Grin.
