Just barely! The sun was literally going down on March 31st when i rushed out to snap a pic Thanks for the kind comment Christel!

And speaking of pics, I didn't realize that my pictures were being so reduced by the software I was using on my phone, so I'm including what I hope is a larger image:

Re: March op's challenge and chat

I missed this one! Guess the thread got moved and I overlooked it.

I'm so glad you took a crack at this Beetle, Lamar! Seems like this one drew a lot of us in. The power of the Bug. Great job with the details and highlights, too. I'm glad you noticed that file size and posted a bigger photo for us.

Thanks for commenting, Terri! Yeah, I couldn't resist the Beetle : ) I drove a red '68 for years. And then a '71 van.

I sort of used your scaling method on the car alone by putting it inside a box and dividing the box. I think I got pretty good symmetry overall. I now plainly see that tires aren't the same width and the left one doesn't meet the shadow underneath. I got in a huge hurry to finish it, get a photo, and post it on the 31st.

Re: March op's challenge and chat

Cool; I'm glad the grid concept is helping. I don't think it matters how you use it, and it sounds like you had a good approach for the car.

I see what you're saying about the tire/shadow line. Looks like an easy fix, if you wanted to just bring down more black and kind of square it off on that left side, it should help. I also realized my own grid ref photo is kind of warped.

We do what we can, eh?
