Spanish folly

Prussian blue, quin rose, perylene maroon, Benzimida yellow.
Hahnemuhle Cornwall paper.
32 x 24 cm.

I don't like the way the foreground has turned out and I was thinking of cropping it out like this:

Any thoughts?

Thanks for looking.

Re: Spanish folly

José, I think they both work and it is a fine painting. Curious of the story behind the folly.

Apparently it was built in the early 20th century to imitate coastal watch towers. It looks like a real one but it isn't.

Re: Spanish folly

It’s a tough call. I like both and want to walk up the path to get a closer look.

Re: Spanish folly

For my eyes the crop should be from the left half way or so up the hill, and maybe a bit off the bottom, that puts the tower off center and probably a better composition,,,just a thought

Re: Spanish folly

Jose, I like the top one better. The path just runs straight off the page in the second one. I like rock and its shadow on the first.
