Jo — Fun food sketches, yum! The label on the corn, and the corn itself, seem so 3D I could munch on the corn right now 🌽 But your polar bear stole my heart - beautifully textured, and look at that adorable face 😊 and those plush hearts

Joe — Sure miss ya around here but I can relate. I get stuck on a sketch or painting sometimes and can't find the next thing to do, but don't want to go on to something else for fear it will end up on the tall, tippy pile of unfinished stuff Hang in there, and don't be a stranger... ☀️

EP — LOL at your kilowatt comment 😀 And that bulb is amazing with all its curls - fun page! Like Jo, I used to like to crochet when I was a kid, but I've only been a knitter as an adult. Don't know why I love your khaki round. Has a New Age (even reiki-esque) spiral sensibility to it And wow, LOVE your awesome mandala so colorful and beautifully done!!! Likewise on your wonderful sketches - cool jumping dog 🐕

EP - Nice set of sketches. The imagine 44 times cracked me up. What is the jug 50 liters of? Love the Mandela

Jo - you got me off the crucifix. Stealing your idea for kernel and beans 👍🏽 Pastel happy bear is adorable.

Pine Cone

1 kidney beans subbing baked beans. About 15 min in Procreate using pencil brush. Resized in Art Studio. (No shading and No effort to make it look like graphite.) Copying jo’s idea.

Keep sketching
Joe

P.S. Seeing it on screen it looks a bit squat that is going down as either artistic license or perspective.

Ai and Pine Cone, thank you.

EP, ah, love the honey bear idea! Fun to have a dog like that! Nifty sculpture, love the colors. And tuna, a favorite for sandwiches for me. We put in a bit of jalepeño.

Joe, great job on the beans and corn. Good lettering and ellipses.

Number 4, kipper - some fish shaped salt and pepper shakers I bought just to have "fish" for here. They are cute but harder to sketch than I thought. Hmmm.

Joe - thank you. The large jug holds a chemical solution. Woo hoo baked beans (eaten on toast?) Woo hoo kernal corn

Jo - oooh jalapeno with tuna might be a bit hot. Those fish would be so difficult to draw I'd imagine with all those patterns

Here we go, updated photos of my sketches (not blurry this time) and a close up of the khaki green crocheted round:

Jo - thanks for compliments. You sure picked a challenge with patterns on those fish. Nice job.

EP - Beans are for dinner tonight, will. be side dish with pilled pork. Spice them up a little with ketchup and brown sugar. Recipe I got from my MIL. The khaki round I thought was macrame. Years ago I macrame a set of coasters looked a lot like your round. Well maybe not but your round reminded me of them.

3 koala - substitute bear reading a book. Part of my wife’s teddy bear collection. Most are stuffed but she has about 15-20 statues/ceramics. Done in Procreate using several brushes and layers. Took about 20-25 minutes.

Keep sketching
Joe

Re: Scavenger Hunt #591 - June 13 - 21

Jo, you have a good selection of cans for this hunt. Sweet bear!! Those patterned fish can't be easy to sketch. lol

EP - Good collection of items. Nice whirl on that twisty bulb. The dog looks like he's ready to jump! Good thinking for the honey bear.

Joe, glad we were bean worthy! lol Nice digi of the can, the corn and the sweet bear too.

1 - khaki shorts on my friend Alan - direct watercolors
2 - coffee beans (sub for pinto) - ink

Off to check if my gesso is dry. lol Working on a project for a show. If it isn't dry maybe I can sketch a few items.

Joan - excellent proportions and shading on Alan. Pen and ink sketch is very good as well but Alan just pops,

Re: Scavenger Hunt #591 - June 13 - 21

Joe, thanks. I've been doing a direct watercolor challenge this month. Flowers and landscapes are the easiest to do that way, but I like doing people too.

Well, my second coat of gesso is drying so I had time to sketch.

3 - bear - pencil
4 - glass fish - watercolors
5 - kilogram - ink

Joe - thank you. Mmm any room at your place for dinner tonight? That bear is wearing a wooly sweater

Joan - thank you. I like the fellow sketching - particularly how you captured his hat. Good ob on the busy cafe sketch. Awwww look at that bunny with the giant carrot! Where did you get your scale?

Joan - Well done on the bear/rabbit, fish and scale. I am going to steal the scale idea.

EP - Yep he has a woolly sweater. To be honest we got him when we lived up north and sweater was more appropriate.

Here he is in living color...

Also I posted the finished Crucifix over in Hunt 588.
