Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Interesting concept with leaving the scene up to the viewer! I feel like it might be ocean. The colors and sort of gritty textures sort of reminds me of shallow ocean waters...yet it looks turbulent and violent too. Really a beauty!

Thanks Jenna appreciate your feedback. I was taught that one should try and allow the viewer to finish the scene in order to become an active participant in the viewing process.

Sedona Dusk Settles In - 18x24 palette knife on 225lb heavy linen paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied quickly with gusto and emotion for the Southwest. The SW is such an open area that reflections from the sky and land are easily seen on the desert floor & surrounding objects in the desert.

Done in a loose expressionistic style with semi abstract passages.

I love the feeling of a mirage in this one. There's a moving, shimmering, dream-like feel to it. Once again, those blues and oranges really zing off each other beautifully!

Hi Richard, love your painting storm receding, really beautiful. Sedona dusk is really amazing, an abstract painting in my eyes.

Great work! The heavy textures in this piece make it so enjoyable to look at!

These are such powerful, beautiful pieces. I keep looking for you in landscape, as for the longest time my daily ritual was morning coffee and your latest painting, and then I remember to come to SW to find them! (these new meds are really playing havoc with my mind!)

Hud - the badlands I'm most familiar with are those in AZ, thanks for your feedback.
