Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

These are wonderful Richard - I love your palms, the trail with the aspens and the purple mountain just glows! That last one is pure magic - the colors and movement are just singing in it!

Nice to see things turn Southwest again, though your palms have been lovely too. Wonderful mindscape painting!

Richard: Your painting of the trail leading to the Sangre Mountains is very striking ... the Yellow Aspens against the backdrop of the purple mountain is so well executed ... wonderful painting -

Storm Recedes- 18x24 palette knife on 225lb heavy linen paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied quickly with gusto and emotion. Color & motion were my main objectives. Also I tried to leave the identity of the scene up to the imagination of the viewer be it an ocean or a desert.

Richard: This too is quite striking ... I see an ocean with all the blue and waves cashing in -

I can see both. Depends on my thoughts at the moment. So most of the time towards the desert.

Thanks Jo - happy you can see both as I attempted to achieve that - you are correct it depends where your mind is at the time of viewing.

Very interesting Richard - this may sound odd, but I see water and fish! (wonder what kind of mood I'm in?). I think this is superb!
